The original house was designed by Francisco Valines Cofresi in 1935 which was classified by the State Historic Preservation Office as a historic place in 1995 for its “Prairie Style” architecture.
The design of an open-plan office for boutique-style tech company was a collaboration with Juliette Calaf Interiors and was dictated by its proximity to the ocean and relaxed working environment. In the main space a writable black surface takes up an entire side of the office from the entry all the way to the ocean view lounge where users can have quick informal meetings.
2nd level addition to existing storage building that cantilevers over parking area. The design utilizes natural lighting, advanced mechanical systems and reflective roofing system in order to reduce energy costs.
The building envelope is considered as a 100% solar energy collector by installing a screen of solar panels on East and West facades while utilizing pre-fab concrete units on the short ends.
